Here are some pictures of a few of our garden plants.
Boy Wonder #2's squash garden. Originally, he planted about 25 seeds. All but 2 came up and are thriving. We kept 6 and gave the remainder to some friends. Our 6 are doing great and hopefully will take the place of the zucchini devoured by squash vine borers. I also hope they don't succumb to the same.
My purty peppers. These are thriving so well now that I know I was over-watering them. They have doubled in size in the past couple of weeks.
Our lone strawberry plant growing steadily. It keeps making pretty flowers. We're definitely going to have to get more of these.
Jalapenos thriving. These little plants have just exploded with growth and flowers since I stopped over-watering. I can't wait for homemade salsa from our garden.
One thing I have being doing different is adding more calcium to the tomatoes and peppers. Thanks to a tip from a Master Gardener I met, I've been crushing up antacid tablets and sprinkling them around the tomatoes and peppers. Since both need lots of calcium, this is an easy and inexpensive way to get them the nutrients.
