Pepper on My Peppers

Cayenne pepper or chili pepper is my go-to for killing the little buggies that eat the leaves off my plants.  This weekend, I took the plunge and let Boy Wonder #2 help me sprinkle the cayenne.  My jalapenos are loosing their leaves again at an alarming rate due to a nocturnal buggy having them as his midnight meal.

Sprinkling the cayenne on the jalapenos.  He was very determined to open the "spoon" side instead of the "sprinkle" side so he could see where it went.  Mean Mommy wouldn't let him since I was trying to impart the wisdom of sprinkling versus spooning (yeah, that sounds like a good reason).

In a moment of my usual "let's try this and see if it works", I let him sprinkle some on the crook neck squash plant.  Maybe, just maybe, the squash vine borer won't like cayenne and stay away.  Hey, a girl can dream.

When he was finished and back inside chasing his brother around the house, I decided to sprinkle the young squash plants with the cayenne.  Except I opened the spoon side.  At this point in our adventure, I went inside and took a nap.  Evidently my brain and eyes stopped communicating.
