First, here's the poison ivy after getting sprayed with vinegar.
Now, here's the update on the English Ivy. It will need more spraying but the vinegar is working! The vinegar is slower to work than the Round-Up but I prefer to use the vinegar. Especially since Girl Wonder #2 has decided it's her job to pump the sprayer and wave the wand around. She may turn into in the family weed-killing expert.
Just in case you have other pesky garden visitors, here's what happens to trees that try to grow where they aren't supposed to be.
I sprayed my test area again with vinegar and some new areas. I'll update you on those as the dying progresses.
I'm guessing this is a pretty obvious thing for Those Who Garden, Well or Otherwise, but I love the idea of using vinegar and therefore letting the kids participate in the eradication of the infidels.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm not sure how obvious it is. I'm a huge fan of vinegar so I figured if it worked on so many other things, it might work on the infidels. Turns out it does. I was happily surprised. But it does work slowly as opposed to Round-Up, which works really fast. Having the kids work with the vinegar is a bonus. Then we all smell like a pickle factory (not just me).
