We (the Wonder Kids and I) are attempting to grow vegetables in our garden. We've recently moved so we're limited to containers at the moment. I'm constantly plotting to take over large swaths of yard for veggies and my newest gardening loves-roses and dahlias and daylilies and whatever else strikes my fancy. But mostly, we grow veggies. I grew up with an aunt and uncle who had very large vegetable garden. I loved getting lost in it and eating the veggies while hiding under the beans. For the record, corn is a great place for hiding during hide-n-seek. It is my hope that getting the kids involved in the gardening will pass on the knowledge of growing your own food, eating what you grow, patience, tenacity, problem-solving, and the simple joy of working the soil of a garden. I have big dreams!
As our garden becomes gardens and we grow more veggies and flowers, stay tuned. We've got so much planned it may take us a few years to get it all together. I'll be sharing it right here with you. Maybe, just maybe, we'll have produce this year to share. Stay tuned!
