Building New Raised Bed Frames

Over Labor Day weekend, Sweet Hubby and the Boys' Wonder put the new raised bed frames together.  We had purchased cedar for the frames Thursday evening.  Unfortunately, we forgot that we had no way of cutting 2 of the cedar boards to make the end pieces of the frames.  We had enough cedar, brackets, and screws for 2 4'x8'x8" frames.  We decided to get 2 more 8' boards and get them cut in half at Big Orange when we went to the Kids Workshop on Saturday.  This also left us with 2 8' boards to put into the shed until we put more frames out in the spring.

While waiting for the nice Big Orange employee to cut the wood, Sweet Hubby found some 6' cedar fence pickets that would work even better for our needs and at 75% less than what we'd already paid.  Since we hadn't used them yet, he loaded up the 8' boards and returned them.  Our costs dropped dramatically.  It was a "woohoo" moment if there ever was one.

Putting the beds together.  Sweet Hubby was a crazy man with his power drill.

Once he got going, the Boy Wonder #2 started helping.  He helped Sweet Hubby put together the last 2 raised bed frames.

Finished and ready to be put into the sunny spot.
