Lettuce Surprise You

Last Friday was our day to plant lettuce seeds.  I decided it was the day because we had an 80% chance of rain for the afternoon.  If I wanted to get the seeds in and watered post-MooPooTea, this was the day to do it.  But it didn't rain until Sunday.  (That's ok.  More MooPoo love for the seeds.)  Add in miniscule naps for the kids and mommy was getting desperate for outside time.

The 2 containers on the front porch will be lettuce, hopefully.  The Wonder Kids had a whole lotta fun planting seeds and covering up seeds and mixing up soil and throwing soil and waving at the school buses with full shovels of soil.  I hope there are still seeds in the containers.

Poking holes for the lettuce seeds.

Container #1 getting seeded by the Girls Wonder.  Yes, there are way more holes than necessary.  No, they are not spaced according to directions.  It's a learning process (that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Covering the holes, I think.  This was seconds before the Big Yellow Limo cruised through and waves were passed across the yard.

The Boys' Wonder container.  According to BW #2, eating an apple while planting lettuce seeds helps him think about rockets.

Boy Wonder #2 very carefully flattening out the soil surface.  Girl Wonder #2 was holding his apple while he worked.  Then he discovered she had been eating it.  Woops.

Leftovers.

Watering with MooPooTea and Duckie the Duckster.
