Tea for Thirty-Three

I've been following garden bloggers for a couple of years now.  I've noticed many share their various successes with conditioners for their soils.  One of the most recurring soil conditioners I noticed was Manure Tea.  Yep, you read that right.  Cow, horse, and alfalfa manure tea.  Well, my garden isn't doing so well.  In my ever-constant methods to discover what I'm doing wrong, I decided to give the manure tea a try.

Manure Tea works with your soil to increase the micronutrients it needs to make your plants grow.  You can use it in your garden, your lawn, your veggie garden, and even houseplants.  It comes in a set of 3 tea bags (yes, tea bags!).  Fill a 5-gallon bucket, drop the tea bag inside, cover, and let it steep for 1-3 days.

My 3 teas.

The tea "brewing" in the sun.

When it's done brewing, it looks like, well, tea.  Good old fashioned sweet tea.  Except it's not.  It's moopootea (I didn't come up with that.  Helen Weis of @UniquebyDesign.)  By the way, this particular picture is the brew after 24 hours.  I let this first batch steep for 48 hours before using.

Our veggies before having tea for thirty-three.  Well, it used to be 33.  I think we're down below 20 now.

Squash

Cucumbers

Bell Peppers

Jalapeno Peppers

Bell Peppers

Basil

Tomatoes

Sweet Potatoes and Tomatoes

Jalapeno Peppers

You'll see the updates as we go along.  I can't wait to see what happens.

***For the record, I bought the Manure Tea from Authentic Haven Brand.  They have no clue I wrote this post.  (Although they probably will after it posts.)  I follow them on Twitter and have seen great results from others using the tea.  I wanted to see if it would help my garden.  Now, back to your regularly scheduled caffeination.***

  1. I was wondering what manure tea was! Maybe I should give that a try - my garden is dead :( so sad!

  2. Mine is struggling. That's my main reason for trying it. I've seen so many other gardeners post beautiful results. My 2nd batch is brewing as I type. It'll be dolled out tomorrow to the roses and the area where I'm putting in a new flower bed. I can't wait to see what happens!

  3. Thanks for this post. I have been using this product for three years now and can also attest to its goodness. I started feeding just my miniature roses growing in pots and they did so well, one of the blooms won an award at the local rose show. We now use it on all our plants.
