What?!? Twitter? For gardening knowledge? No, that's not a figment of my oft-dry and slightly twisted sense of humor. There really is a wealth of knowledge on Twitter for gardeners. I should know. I've learned, for starters, about climate-conscious soil amendments, tree growing, rose cultivation and growing, uses for herbs and how to keep them alive, caring for seeds, and more. If you are a novice, expert, or attempting to not kill your plants, here's a great list of chats to follow on Twitter and their chat times.
#gardenchat: Mondays-8pm Eastern
#seedchat: Wednesdays-8pm Eastern
#treechat: Tuesdays-2pm Eastern
#herbchat: Thursdays-2pm Eastern
#groundchat: Fridays-2pm Eastern
#rosechat: last Wednesday of the month at 8pm Eastern
For other useful and interesting knowledge, check out #gartending (making great drinks from your garden bounty) and #containergardening (growing flowers and veggies in containers of all sizes).
Join in the chat fun! You'll learn more than you ever expected and meet some pretty cool Tweeps.
